Training Industry Body
Trainer register

Checking a trainer.

The trainer register records the trainers the Training Industry Body has approved, and whether that approval is current. Look a trainer up by the register reference they give you, or by surname.

The reference starts TIB-T- followed by eight letters and numbers. You can leave out the TIB-T- and the hyphens, and it does not matter whether you use capitals.

Enter the full surname. The search matches whole names only, and shows at most 20 trainers.

What the register shows

  • » Approved — we have checked the trainer's credentials and approved them to deliver the courses shown, until the date shown.
  • » Suspended — the approval is paused, for example because a credential has expired and not yet been renewed.
  • » Withdrawn — the trainer is no longer registered. Withdrawn entries stay visible for two years.

What this check tells you

The register is our own record of our decisions, so it is the place to confirm a trainer's status — not a certificate, a website or an email. It shows only what is needed to confirm that status: no contact details, no employer, and no reasons for a suspension or withdrawal.

To check a certificate rather than a trainer, use certificate verification.
